The recipient for the Grand Jury Prize in the categories of Best Feature and Best Short is
determined by our panel of judges:
Steve Buss, Professor of Communications Studies, Media Coordinator - California State
University, Sacramento
Laura Coulter, Office Manager at the Crest Theatre and President of the Sacramento Film
Group
Roxane Fritz, Entertainment Attorney
Mark Halverson, Sacramento News & Review Film Critic
Several of the directors of selected films will be on hand to answer audience questions
concerning their creations and the filmmaking process in general. The event is scheduled
for the evening of Sunday, August 12th, beginning at 5:30pm, and will be followed by the
Awards Ceremony.
The Festival is organizing a symposium of independent filmmaking organizations and studios
to come and discuss their visions, collaborations, and personal work ethic with the growing
population of Sacramento filmmakers and film enthusiasts. The symposium is scheduled for the
afternoon of Sunday, August 12th, and interested organizations are welcome to contact us and
discuss possible representation at the event. E-mail all requests and inquiries to

Our retrospective screenings will focus on the work of acclaimed Australian director Peter
Weir.

from the Festival will be living well and working hard in the Cannes Market.
