Going back to our roots as a more intimate Festival was a great decision - after steady growth over 11 years, including 3 years as a 10-day event, we split into 2 seasonal programs and just completed our first 3-day WinterFEST. The differences were remarkable the energy level remained consistently high and we didn't exhaust our volunteers. Our filmmakers came in from around the state and across the country and most of them stayed for the entire weekend, hanging out and getting to know each other which is such a big part of the festival experience. We had lost some of that dynamic in the longer events and we're very glad to have re-engineered the logistics.

We thank those filmmakers who submitted films, we congratulate those whose films were accepted, we are grateful to those who spent all or part of their weekend with us, either in the audience or in support of films or the Festival, and we are proud to be associated with such generous and talented people.

We're looking forward to doing it all over again at our SummerFEST August 17-21. Until then, the final act of WinterFEST 2011 is to share with you our latest group winning films:
