Micha, a concentration camp survivor, comes back home to Brussels in the spring of '45. Zelda, who had been in hiding for four years, is waiting for him. She wants their reunion to be perfect, and for this reason she doesn't tell Micha the truth: she doesn't know where their son, Dan, is. Micha and Zelda meet again passionately, but the absence of the child and Zelda's confusion when it comes to explain it, undermines their happiness.
