Emil
(10:22) New York, NY - Student Film - NYU

Abandoned by a mother who could no longer handle the day-to-day of family life, Emil, a 12-year-old boy, grows up with a far away memory of mommy – substantiated by a teddy bear she left behind for him. His sister had been his loving companion and caretaker until she fell into the carelessness of a teenager in love. Their father is a haggard man, forever saddened by his wife’s desertion.

Emil runs away from the troubles at home to an industrial area of Brooklyn. Overwhelmed by loneliness and his sister's pregnancy, he attempts to destroy his childhood. His only hope lies in a next-door neighbor who knows Emil well enough to understand his idealistic aspirations.
