Tee, a young Cambodian boy, runs away from home after a severe beating from his father. Confused and scared, Tee runs to a small, secluded park a couple of blocks away from his house in North Philadelphia and hides in a playground.

He meets a young Caucasian girl who also happens to be hiding in the park, and she annoys him with random questions. Judging from her optimism and her color, he assumes she knows nothing of his pain and eventually blows her off, only to find out later that she knows more than he could ever imagine.
