August 21st, 6:00pm 10x10 Filmmaker Challenge: The End of Days
The 10x10 program began experimentally in 2004 with a few crazy teams, a midnight
time slot and a theme - "The Undead and the Seven Deadly Sins: Would They Even
Care" - designed to tap into that weird late night energy. Still experimental,
this year's program attempts to bring the 10x10 program into the fold with an
earlier evening screening and a theme that is both reflective of its timing as
the last Festival screening and still open to extremely broad interpretation.
Successful teams will have met on August 5th for the disclosure of the theme
and all related rules and will have delivered their finished projects of no
more than 10 minutes total running time, no later than 10 days after that first
introductory meeting. At the time of printing, the process had not begun but
this year's theme - "The End of Days" - was chosen for its potential to yield
tales of biblical prophecy, post-apocalyptic anarchy, delightful sunsets,
death-bed reminiscences, and perhaps even documentaries on the perfect bedtime
flossing technique.
